Autofest this weekend

O’Reilly’s Autofest is set for Friday through Sunday at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. This “premier indoor collection of street machines, rods, customs, trucks, bikes and more” is the first national-level show to be held in the capital city. More than 125 of the hottest cars in the state compete. Celebrity guests will be on hand to sign autographs, plus there will be local and national vendors selling some of the latest products and accessories. “Images of the South” Watercolors Traveling Exhibition will be at the Baxter County Library in Mountain Home Saturday, Jan. 6 through Wednesday, Jan. 31. Enjoy “Images of the South” Watercolors Exhibit which invites viewers to take a look at Southern culture through artists’ eyes. This exhibit asks the viewer to contemplate what IS Southern culture? The South has rich traditions – friendliness, influential music, spirituality, storytelling and closeness to the land. Is Southern culture on its way toward becoming a sentimental thing of the past?
