GOV service station closed Sept. 30

The base service station for government vehicles will be closed Sept 30 at 3 p.m. and will reopen at midnight Oct. 1 to all for end of fiscal year close out. All vehicles will need to be fueled prior to this. Emergency fuel request should be made through the resource control center at 987-3016.


Right Start changes

The joint intro processing, formerly called Right Start, is now being held Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Thomas Community Activities Center. Spouses are encouraged to attend this event with their active duty military member. Base and local community information is presented at this event. Contact the Airman and Family Readiness Center at 987-6801 for more information.


WG/CC golf tourney

Brig. Gen. (S) Wayne Schatz is hosting a commander’s golf tournament Friday, Oct. 5. Lunch is at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. This is a 4-person scramble format. The entry is $30 per person. Hispanic-American Heritage month

The LRAFB HAH Special Observance Committee will also be hosting a variety of events in hopes of enriching your understanding and appreciation of the Hispanic-American culture. Contact Jolene Cantrell at Jolene.cantrell-payton@littlerock.af.mil or 987-6270. The events are: Oct. 2, Lunch and Learn movie on famous Hispanic-Americans II- lunch is provided; Oct. 5, Lunch and Learn food tasting and Latin dance demonstration/lesson; Oct. 9, Arnold Elementary Outreach movie showing and Oct. 10, Hispanic meal will be on the menu at the Razorback Café.


VA disability claims

The 314th Medical Group offers a VA disability pre-discharge briefing. Airmen who are retiring or separating should contact the Airmen and Family Readiness Center at 987-3723 or the 314th MDG Tricare office at 987-1285 75 to 180 days before their last duty day. These offices will provide necessary information on filing VA disability claims.


Medical appointments available online

All Little Rock Air Force Base medical appointments can be booked online using Tricare Online. TOL offers an array of interactive features and capabilities that are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The site provides lines to information on claims, enrollment, pharmacy and dental benefits. Primary care management appointments can be booked through the site before the clinic appointment lines open. Visit www.tricareonline.com for more information and to register.


Spouses Club to host craft bazaar

The Little Rock Air Force Base Spouses’ Club is having a Holiday Craft Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the LRAFB Conference Center. There will be a small food court at this event. Food vendor slots are open to squadrons/units on a first come first served basis. Booth fee is $50. Units may contact Lisa Hersant at 835-1522. The food item you wish to sell will also be on a first come first served basis. Craft booths are available with a cost of $50 per booth.
