Commissary holiday hours set

The following is the Holiday Hours Schedule for Little Rock Commissary:
Open today, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. hours
Open Dec. 24 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Closed Dec. 25 Christmas Day
Open Dec. 31 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Closed Jan. 1, 2008 New Year’s Day


Retirement

A retirement ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 30 at Little Rock Air Force Base Conference Center for Chief Esparza.
A retirement ceremony is set for Senior Master Sgt. David A. Bryan, after 22 years of dedicated service to the U.S. Air Force, 10 a.m. Nov. 30 at Hanger 1080.


Flu vaccinations available

Flu vaccinations are currently available for active duty members only. Active duty personnel are highly encouraged to get their flu vaccinations at the scheduled squadron times or at the Thomas Community Activities Center from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Monday and Tuesday. Unit deployment monitors and unit health monitors should call Staff Sgt. MacKenzie Savoy at 987-7312 for scheduling. Flu vaccinations will be available for high-risk patients and all other beneficiaries Monday.


Chapel seeks musician

The Little Rock Air Force Base Chapel has a position open for a musician for the 6 p.m. Contemporary Protestant service. The individual needs to be a committed, mature Christian who works well with others. Applicants must have the ability to read music with proficiency in playing piano or keyboard.

A copy of the statement of work, explaining other details, can be obtained from Staff Sgt. Terry Mueth, at the chapel located at 950 Arnold Drive, Little Rock Air Force Base. Resumes and sealed bids must be submitted no later than Nov. 30. For more information, contact the Chapel at 987-6014.


DTS no longer displays Southwest Airlines

Defense Travel Service no longer displays availability for Southwest Airlines; however, travelers who would still like to utilize Southwest due to cheaper flights and/or better availability can request the Commercial Travel Office to make reservations with Southwest Airlines. NAF openings

The following nonappropriated-fund jobs are available: Outdoor Recreation recreation aid, NF-I, flexible hours and Golf Course recreation aid, NF-I, flexible hours. All federal NAF employees are required by Public Law 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. For more information call 987-6440.


Nonhousehold goods claims now by appointment

To better accommodate the customer, beginning Dec. 3 the legal office will take in non-household good claims (damages not related to a permanent change of station move) by appointments only. To schedule an appointment, call 987-6154, 987-3803 or 987-6140. Additionally, claimant’s who are filing their household good claim will continue to process their claim through the Air Force Claims Service Center on-line at http://claims.jag.af.mil or by mail at AFCSC/JAD, Attn: Claims Processing,1050 Forrer Blvd, Dayton OH 45420-1472. Claimants can also call the AFCSC at DSN 986-8844 or 1-877-754-1212 for assistance.

Finally, the Department of Defense Form 1840 and 1840/R, also referred to as the pink shipping form, is accepted by the legal office on a walk-in basis on Tuesdays, (8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.), and Wednesday and Thursdays (12:30-3:30 p.m.). However, if you are at 7- days from the date of your delivery of your household goods, contact the legal office so arrangements can be made to have your form processed to the carrier in a timely fashion. Full-time employment

Hunting rules, safety briefing

The next hunting rules/safety briefing is at 4 p.m Tuesday, Nov. 27 in the large conference room in Bldg 528.


Services new hours, offerings

Starting Monday, the bowling center snack bar will begin offering breakfast from 6-10 a.m., seven days a week.

Hangar 1080’s hours of operation will also shift Monday to lunch and dinner hours during the week. The new hours are: Monday-Friday 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Wednesday-Thursday 4-7:30 p.m., Friday 4 p.m.-midnight. During the football season we’ll also be open Sunday 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. and Monday 4-11 p.m.

Hangar 1080 will still offer the Wednesday 2-for-1 steak and Texas Hold ‘em Poker night. In addition, there is a Thursday evening buffet that is a great way to enjoy a family dinner at a reasonable price. There will be the free membership breakfasts (the next one is 6:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday) and Sunday brunches.
