of the Week

Senior Airman Karen Cruz, 314th Operational Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment journeyman, inspects the torque of the MBU-12/P mask worn by flight crews. Airman Cruz was selected as the 2007 Headquarters Air Education and Training Command Aircrew Flight Equipment Airman of the Year for her support of over 900 combat sorties and maintenance of $1 million in equipment for three separate airframes. Airman Cruz is actively pursuing a Community College of the Air Force associate’s degree and maintains a 3.50 grade point average. She was awarded Senior Airman Below-the-Zone in January, and shortly after deployed to Southwest Asia in support of operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force Horn of Africa.
