Combat Airlifter
of the Week

Col. James Johnson, 19th Airlift Wing vice commander, presents Ms. Patricia Thompson, 19th Contracting Squadron contracting officer and Team Leader of the Base Operations Support Team with a commander’s coin for her selection as the Combat Airlifter of the Week. Ms. Thompson led a 30 percent reduced staff in awarding 115 actions at $5.6 million, ensuring uninterrupted services for the base. She also provided support to the relocation of the dining facility, and awarded a new 5 year $681,000 furnishings management contract which included negotiating a $154,000 savings. Her efforts helped improve pride and efficiency in the Airmen dormitories.
