Jimmy Ku, a crew chief stationed at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, was six years into his Air Force career as well as a year into his marriage and new role as stepfather to two daughters. He woke up one October morning with a severe pain on the right side of his groin that changed his life as he knew it.
